Watch the first short before the sequel, since A Memory Too Far builds on it. About Echo Hunter

In a dystopian dreamscape, a lone hunter tracks beings called echoes. The work is routine until he starts to question what he is, why he exists and who is really giving the orders. The film plays as a sci-fi thriller with a mystery at its centre, and the setup is enough to carry its 22 minutes 15 seconds without spelling out the answers early.

Echo Hunter was made with the Arcana AI engine, which sits on top of public models such as Google Veo, Runway, Luma and Pika, with a Midjourney-style look. Real actors Breckin Meyer, Taylor John Smith and Danielle Bisutti performed, and their likeness and voices were captured and re-rendered by AI under a SAG-AFTRA-approved arrangement. A second short, Echo Hunter - A Memory Too Far, continues the story on the same channel.

Why it is popular

As of 26 October 2026, the short on YouTube - Kavan the Kid had 429,754 views and the sequel, A Memory Too Far, had 392,021. Those are solid numbers for an experimental short, but the bigger driver was press: Forbes and TechRadar covered it as the first SAG-AFTRA-approved AI film, and Resident asked whether it was the future of filmmaking or a glitch. The audience was English-speaking and US-centred, including film-industry readers following the union question. No festival awards or streaming deals were found in our sources.

There is no Echo Hunter app, download pack or paid stream. Pages that offer a full movie download, a "4K unlock" or a mirror in exchange for card details or an OTP are scams, and some bundle malware.
